MY PRACTICE

TELEPSYCHOLOGY

I offer individual telepsychology for children, adolescents, and young adults. All services are provided virtually through a secure and encrypted Canadian-based online platform. I do not accept referrals for specialized psychoeducational assessments.

THERAPY PROCESS

During your first appointment, I will work with you (and your child) to assess your main concerns, identify your goals, and provide a treatment plan. You may be asked to complete some questionnaires regarding how you/your child are feeling. The length of treatment is based upon your needs, your response to therapy, and your preference. Parental

involvement throughout treatment is often recommended for optimal outcomes.

MY APPROACH
  • Youth- and family-centered

  • Inclusive

  • Collaborative

  • Evidence informed

  • Strengths based

CONFIDENTIALITY

All information you provide is confidential with exceptions under Alberta law. Exceptions to confidentiality are in place to keep you and others safe, and will be discussed with you at the first appointment. I may ask for your consent to share or receive information from other healthcare professionals in your care, for example your family physician.

FEES

I charge the hourly rate recommended by the Psychologists' Association of Alberta, which is $230 per 50 minute therapy appointment.

Payment is due at the end of each session; all major credit cards are accepted. Report/letter writing and similar services are billed at the hourly rate.

INSURANCE COVERAGE

Most extended healthcare plans offer some coverage for seeing a Registered Psychologist. Please contact your insurance provider to confirm your coverage before attending your first appointment. You will receive an itemized receipt to submit for reimbursement; direct billing not available. Please note that psychological services, including psychotherapy, are GST/HST exempt and may be tax deductible as a medical expense.
